Volvo XC40 Roadshow 2017
In autumn 2017 I was commissioned by Parasol Island, a high profile content production company to take their visuals for the reveal of the new Volvo XC40 into the live environment of the XCITE Night roadshow, which toured through 7 major German cities. The content had to be remixed live, in sync with the band and was spread out over 7 outputs with diverse resolutions. I designed a VJ engine in TouchDesigner, the visual programming environment, that could be fed by the Parasol Island team through folders with still images and mask animations. Those were animated in realtime on two MSI-GS30 laptops (with GTX1080Ti in the docking station), synced over network, controlled with the Akai MPD232 midi controller, composited into two 4k signals and sent over fibre channel to the PRG video crew, that cutted up the signals and routed them to the different outputs.
